Oil is over $50 a barrel - What the hell is going on?

Oil is now trading over $50 a barrel. Funny, back in January 2005 Opec voted to cut oil production as oil started to fall into the low $40's.

Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia, our 'Allies', the countries we 'Protected' and finally rescued from the threat of 'Saddam Hussein' voted along with the rest of this Oil Cartel to cut Oil Production.

Was that to reward the American People for again going to battle and this time toppling Saddam Hussein from power?

Views and Opinions are welcomed... come on everyone, 'Blog it On'

On a per capita basis US citizens use more oil than any other citizen of any other country. Let oil go up to $100 a barrel as far as I'm concerned. Stop consuming so much. Spend some of the hundreds of billions which are going to the Iraqi war effort on researching and promoting alternative energies and you'll stop seeing your sons and daughters coming home in body bags (even though the Bush administration has attempted to keep those pictures and images from the American public)

Is there a website or blog which tracks the dollar value of George Dubya Bushs' OIL STOCKS. How much does his oil trust make from a dollar increase in oil prices.?

OK, I am happy to see I did not erase your comment, that is a good question.

But one has to ask, how much did Bush and Crew invest (if any) in the Euro back in 2000, 2001, and if they did are they unloading it now or still holding their Euro Investments.

As stated before oil usage is higher in the US, but all you need to do to reduce the impact of fuel hikes is buy a fuel economic car. You don't really need a 6ltr pickup to drive 2 hours to work on the freeway do you? Get a smart car, they laugh at you when you drive, you laugh at them at the pump.

Gas prices in europe are at least double what we pay here.....the people who complain about gas prices in the states are those who make 2 or 3 trips to starbucks and buy those damm mocha fraps and what not...they are spending what, almost 4 bucks for a 20 ounce drink...they need to get slapped and get a reality check.

Regarding Double Prices of Gas in Europe.

Doesn't Europe have some sort of health care programs for everyone?

Doesn't the taxes from the Gasoline in Europe pay for those benefits, along with other benefits the governments offer their citizens?

So what the hey. There is always some S.O.B. to stand there and take your money. Give it to the oil companies, or the tax men. Just in case these crooks don't get it all, I feel sure some legislative body can pass a few more "reforms" that will drain any loose change that is left. Bottom line is that the average Joe does not stand a chance against Government/Corporate America, and that is no design accident. America has the best Government that money can buy!

One would think, that since the first thing we did, in Iraq, was to "Secure" the oil fields, Bush could bring the price down, just a bit!!! However, when Yer in th' "Business" of oil, Ya sure ain't gonna do anything, to upset the applecart, when profits increase, for you and your friends!!! Huh???

Go ahead. Keep blaming the little guy at the end of the line who pays the real price. Just because Europeans are unwilling to negotiate a better deal does not mean that should be fleeced.
