Iran puts captured British patrol boats on display

Space War - AFP: Iran puts captured British patrol boats on display

Excerpt - Iran's hardline Revolutionary Guards have put on public display three patrol boats seized along with British troops last June, a fresh snub of London's efforts to get them back, Iranian state news agency IRNA reported Sunday.

The British embassy said it was seeking clarification on the issue, and cautioned Iran that showing off the patrol boats would be "very unhelpful".

The report said the exhibition, entitled "a piece of paradise" and taking place near the southern border with Iraq where the patrol boats were seized, opened Sunday and would feature the Revolutionary Guards recounting their version of the controversial events.

The exhibition, which will last until April 4, is part of Iranian new year celebrations and commemorations of one of the major Iranian operations during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.

Nothing that might show the west as being weak (captured boats) or that might show the real cost of war (dead GIs) is allowed to be displayed. Have to keep people thinking war is a patriotic type of videogame. But killing Saddam's sons and showing them on every TV station and newspaper is acceptable. There are so many displays of hipocrachy, it;s completely ridiculous. The west holds its enemies to a standard that it does not itself maintain (torture, sexual abuse, killing civilians, killing prisoners, lack of freedom of speech/political representation, imprisonment without trial, economic plunder, etc, etc. The US is recruiting enemies faster than it can kill them. Good work, Osama Bush Laden
