Nascar Team Bosses Suspended = Cheating

NASCAR suspends three crew chiefs for Las Vegas infractions

Excerpt - CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- NASCAR on Tuesday suspended the crew chiefs for Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick in a swift crackdown on cheating committed at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Todd Berrier was suspended for four weeks and fined $25,000 for rigging Harvick's fuel tank to appear full when it actually wasn't during qualifying.

Chad Knaus was suspended for two weeks and fined $35,000 when Johnson's race-winning car failed to meet the minimum height requirement in Sunday's post-race inspection.

Alan Gustafson was suspended two weeks and fined $25,000 because Busch's runner-up car was too high in the post-race inspection.

``Guys have just got to stop playing games with the rules,'' NASCAR spokesman Jim Hunter told The Associated Press. ``We've got to do whatever we have to do to protect the integrity of this sport.''

In addition to the suspensions, the drivers were also docked 25 points. Rick Hendrick, the car owner for Johnson and Busch, was docked 50 points -- 25 for each infraction. Richard Childress, the car owner for Harvick, was docked 25 points.

The penalty cost Johnson the series points lead, which he earned following his victory Sunday in Las Vegas. NASCAR allowed his victory to stand, but instead of a 15-point advantage over Kurt Busch, Johnson is now in second place in the standings, 10 points back.

Hard Comment: I've been biting my lip since the season started, but I have been paying attention to Nascar.

They are selling this 'Sport' as a family values event.

That is a crock of crap - but My comments will be unleashed soon, just waiting for this total farce of 'Family Values Sport' to unfold itself for what it has become, an event hijacked by world corporations who value the American Family about as much as they Value Revenue Losses.

Lying, Cheating, Bumping, Rubbing, Bootlegging, Fighting, now sponsored by Hard Booze and hosted by LEGALIZED PROSTITUTION ridden communities, and all of their novelties and souvenir's made in a Communist Country, yeah, real family value oriented event, but again, I've been tight lipped, not for long though.

I agree with the fact that since 'Nextel' has taken over, Nascar has taken a turn for the worse.

Bill Elliot, had a great year 2 years ago, and what did he get for it? - Retirement. He was dropped for a full season ride last year.

Why? - My opinion, he is too old, have you noticed that the spotlight is on all of these 'Young Good Looking Drivers' with 'Perfect Teeth', all ready to do the commercials on TV for the Sponsors who support them.

It has become sickening in certain aspects.

I personally have a few other things going on, and haven't had a chance to just sit down and 'let it all out', 'yet'.... .

Lucky Dog, Don't Pass when the Yellow drops,,, please, what's next, 'Bathroom Breaks' for the drivers.
